Charlie King has dropped out of the democratic primary race for NYS Attorney General and has endorsed Andrew Cuomo’s bid for the position.  King:  “It became clear I can’t win, and Andrew will win on Sept. 12”.

Addressing reporters under the portico of City Hall, Mr. King was joined by Mr. Cuomo, City Comptroller William C. Thompson and Representative Charles B. Rangel, the Harlem Democrat who, along with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, helped broker Mr. King’s endorsement of Mr. Cuomo. It was a clearly a painful decision for Mr. King, who has now been unsuccessful in three attempts at statewide office.
